How to get there:
From Oslo you have two optional routes. Alt. 1: Round the cost via Kristiansand.
A total of approx. 600 kilometres. Alt. 2: Over the mountain. A total of 45 kilometres.
Driving over the mountains saves you 1 hour, and you get to see some very spectacular
nature. But do not take this route with a camper, as the roads are verry narrow
and steep.
Alt. 1: Oslo, Kristiansand, towards Stavanger. Take off towards Bryne, road 504
and 505. Drive straight through Bryne, then take road 44 towards Stavanger. Then
you get to Kleppe, take right in the roundabout. Then follow road 505 to Kvernaland.
Finally take right at sign that says "Modellbilbane".
Alt. 2: Oslo, Drammen, road E134 Hokksund, Kongsberg, Notodden, Seljord, Høydalsmo,
road 45 Dalen, Rotemo, road 9 Valle, road 45 Suleskard (take right, road no. not
indicated), Fidjeland, Sinnes, Byrkjedal, Oltedal, Ålgård, road 506 Bryne, road
44 towards Stavanger, Then you get to Kleppe, take right in the roundabout. Then
follow road 505 to Kvernaland. Finally take right at sign that says "Modellbilbane".
Going back over the mountains: Road E39 Figgjo, Ålgård, road 45 Sirdal, road 9
towards Setesdal, Suleskard, Brokke, Valle, Rotemo, road 45 Dalen, road E134 Seljord,
Notodden, Kongsberg, Oslo.
Pluses:
-Very fast
-Travelling over the mountains is spectacular!
Minuses:
-High tyre wear
